How Soap Appeared

One of the legends of soap occurrence is connected with mountain Sapo on which ancient Romans made sacrifice of animals for gods` sake. At the bottom of this mountain the river Tiber flown where women washed clothes. Fat of animals mixed up with ashes of fires and was washed off by rains in to the river. Water in the river started to foam, and the women who got used to rinsing linen there, had noticed, that there all pollution perfectly cleaned off from a fabric. And soap discovering as an attribute means for hygienic purpose belongs to the antique doctor Galen who lived in II century AD. There was no liquid soup then. After falling of Roman Empire soap was forgotten for many centuries, that, by the way, perfectly assisted severe epidemics of plague in the Europe in the Middle Ages. Again soap has appeared in Europe only in the XIII century in France and England and all was made knowing a subtlety of this art by druggists for noble families only. One step at a time manufacture extended, and popularity of soap grew. After French scientist Lui Pasteur in the beginning of the XIX century noted, that bacteria are activators of illnesses, the indispensability of personal hygienic purpose became obvious to all. Mass production of soap has been adjusted, and since then it is a product of the first remedy to cure maladies.
But, as always happens, transition to mass release was accompanied by variations in technology and structure of a product, namely firm and liquid, therefore modern soap already completely differs of what these druggists used to let out.
